About the Role

We are currently hiring for a Surgical Dental Assistant to support our doctors with oral surgery procedures. This is a great opportunity for someone with surgical experience who wants to work in a fast-paced, high-quality clinical setting.

This allows both you and our team to experience what it’s like to work together before committing to a full-time offer. It’s a chance to make sure the fit is right on both sides—transparent and simple.

Responsibilities

  • Assist chairside during surgical procedures including extractions, implant placements, periodontal surgeries, and IV sedation

  • Review and document medical histories with accuracy and care

  • Maintain a sterile and well-prepared surgical environment

  • Provide clear communication and patient support throughout procedures

  • Collaborate with the clinical team to maintain smooth day-to-day flow

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of dental assisting experience (10+ preferred)

  • Strong background assisting in oral surgery cases

  • Comfortable with medical history review and documentation

  • CPR certification required (or willingness to obtain immediately)

  • Dentrix experience is preferred

  • Professional, organized, and attentive to detail

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
  • Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
  • Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations..
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed)
  • Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program

or

  • Six months on-the-job-experience (with supporting documentation)
  • X-Ray certification
  • Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Dental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
