Dental Care Alliance (DCA) is seeking a skilled and highly organized Director, Construction Management, to oversee dental office construction, renovation and expansion projects across our nationwide portfolio. This role will ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and in alignment with DCA’s strategic growth and operational standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience managing healthcare or dental construction projects and thrive in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
· Project oversight: Lead and manage end-to-end construction projects from site assessment and planning through design, permitting, build-out and occupancy
· Vendor Management: Coordinate and oversee general contractors, architects, engineers, consultants and other vendors to ensure alignment with project scope, budget and schedule
· Design & Standards Compliance: Work with internal stakeholders to ensure facility design adheres to DCA clinical and brand standards, ADA compliance and applicable codes
· Budget & Cost Control: Develop project budgets, track expenses, negotiate cost proposals and manage change orders to maintain financial control
· Schedule Management: Develop and maintain detailed project timelines and ensure all stakeholders are informed of milestones, risks and delays
· Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Operations, IT, Procurement, Legal, Finance and Clinical teams to align construction efforts with organizational goals
· Reporting: Provide regular updates to the VP of Real Estate & Facilities and senior leadership, including risk assessments, status reports and project closeout documentation.
· Site Visits: Conduct job site visits as needed to monitor progress, quality, safety and compliance with design intent.
· Team Leadership & Development: Supervise and mentor a team of project managers and coordinators, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
· Resource Planning & Allocation: Oversee staffing and resource needs across multiple projects, ensuring optimal team deployment and workload balance to meet organizational priorities.
· Performance Management: Conduct regular performance reviews, set clear objectives, and support professional development to build a high-performing construction management team.
· Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Architecture, Engineering or related field
· Minimum 5-7 years of experience managing commercial construction projects; healthcare/dental experience preferred
· Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, permitting processes, building codes and ADA compliance
· Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across geographically dispersed locations
· Excellent organizational, communication and negotiation skills
· Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel and Monday.com
· Willingness to travel (25-50%) to project sites across the US
Preferred Attributes:
· Experience in corporate healthcare or dental office buildouts (new construction and renovations)
· Strong understanding of lease work letters and landlord-tenant construction responsibilities
· PMP or equivalent management certificate is a plus
