Overview

Gentle Dental of Haverford is looking for a Dental Assistant to join our team and support our clinical staff in delivering exceptional patient care in a team-based environment.

We’re excited to welcome a new dental assistant to our practice. The ideal candidate will have experience assisting with a variety of dental procedures and bring a friendly, upbeat attitude to our team. We’re looking for someone who is reliable, a strong team player, and comfortable in a busy environment.


Position Overview

As a Dental Assistant, you will be an integral part of the care team, providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff during treatment procedures. You will help us fulfill our mission of delivering excellent dental care to the community while creating positive, memorable patient experiences.

Candidates must have prior dental assisting experience to be considered. Experience with Denticon practice management software is preferred, but not required.


Schedule

  • Part-time
  • Tuesday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
  • Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
  • Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations..
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed)
  • Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

 

  • One year or more on-the-job-experience (with supporting documentation)
  • Registered Dental Assistant - Preferred
  • X-Ray certification, Required
  • Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Dental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
