Contemporary Dentistry of East Lansing is looking for a Dental Assistant in East Lansing, Michigan to assist our clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction while operating in a team-based environment.

 

We are looking for a team-oriented individual to join our busy dental practice. The ideal candidate is friendly, organized, and committed to providing exceptional patient care while working collaboratively with our team.

Our practice offers a full range of dental services, including cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, teeth whitening, and much more. We pride ourselves on creating a serene, comfortable, and welcoming experience for every patient who walks through our doors.

Position Overview:

As a Dental Assistant, you are an integral part of the care team, providing support to the office and assisting the professional dental staff with treatment.   • Full-time Schedule: Monday 8:30am-5:00pm, Tuesday 7:30am-5:00pm, Wednesday 7:30am-4:00pm, Thursday 7:30am-5:00pm

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Support: Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
  • Patient Care: Welcome, comfort, and educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
  • Radiography & Diagnostics: Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and follow workplace regulations..
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake (if needed)
  • Helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supply, and emergency telephone directory.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Two years of more on-the-job-experience (with supporting documentation)
  • X-Ray certification
  • Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Dental Assistant are also expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
